Outstanding vodcast! I'm hoping to use Edmodo in the fall with my students, too. The Gradebook feature is the tool I'm hoping to put to good use in the fall. Right now, RKE special ed teachers do not have access to the district's online gradebook - we have go with the old fashion pen/paper report card. The only concern I see for me, parents having to check into two different web sites to retrieve grades for their student.
I love the subgroup idea - I'm trying to think of how I might use them in my online uke lessons. Maybe I could group the students by their level (Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced) and they could share tips and tricks with each other. I could also set up separate groups for different uke groups that I work with around the state/world (like the one I'm helping get started in Canada) as well as my A+ Ukulele Orchestra at the English school. I'll also investigate the professional development groups on Edmodo, I may be able to pick up some useful ideas. Thanks for giving me some new things to try with Edmodo, Allison :)
This looks awesome Allison. I can see why your principal wanted you to move to grade 4. I think I agree with her that you will be able to do more there than in grade 1. I hope you will come to like the experience as you go along. I like your overview of Edmodo and the progress you have made. It seems like you will have a strong tool there for communicating with your target audience.
The vodcast was fantastic. It was very detailed and thorough. I also love help centers as I often go back to look for help using something new. This one looks very comprehensive. It is very interesting that you are using this as a parent resource as well. Nice job joining that 4th Grade Teachers group. I am sure it will be a source of many great ideas and interaction. Great job Allison!
